Headlight

Today was my first day using the head torch (I like that better than head lamp, sounds more dangerous). I found a couple of interesting things about it. First, it was a pain to carry four miles when the light outside was enough for me to take it off after two. Second, when you run through swarms of bugs with a head torch those bugs dive bomb the light, often missing and getting into your eyes. Finally, it probably looked pretty dorky but I don't care because it worked just fine.

All that said, my outing was not a good one, but this was the last day of really high temperatures for the season. I don't know about the humidity in the near future, but today it was way high. I ran the first four and then walked twice the rest of the way. No apologies since it was rough out there. When I took off my technical t-shirt it probably held a half-gallon of sweat. The forecast looks like summer is done. I don't mind the heat, but for running purposes it will be nice if the humidity dries up a little.
