This week has been kind of odd, and will continue to be so over the weekend. I skipped running yesterday because of a ball game I wanted to watch. It ended badly. Anyway, since we have plans tomorrow I wanted to avoid getting up early to run and went for it this afternoon. I ran 9 miles, lots of hills, and it all felt good. The sky was overcast and the temperature in the mid-50s, very nice for running. A strong breeze was coming out of - well, everywhere. It was one of those days where it seemed like unless I was running with the wind directly behind me it was blowing against me. North, east, and south - unless I was running southwest it was an effort. I was in a pretty good zone, though, and it didn't bother me too much. I had a big plate of spaghetti at lunch and that affected me more than the wind. Carb loading four hours before a run? Not a good idea.
My mileage for the week was only 14 total, about half of what I'd planned. Next week I plan on taking it as it comes and not pushing too hard with the big increase in mileage and running four days instead of two.
