Hot and Tough

I knew going into it that today's run was not going to be a good one, but I ran anyway. I knew this for several reasons:

#1- I was awakened suddenly early this morning at 2:30 a.m. by the smoke alarm. I was awake for about two hours after that. I know from experience that when I don't get good sleep my runs are subpar.
#2 - The temperature soared to 91 degrees (or more) this afternoon.
#3 - When I took my first couple of steps into the run I was met by a blast of wind from the southwest.

I took it slow and walked when I had to up the big hills, three times. It was as tough as I expected but not bad enough to keep me from going the full 6 miles. I'll take this temperature over freezing cold days any chance I get.
